STARLINGS PLANET
is a collaboration between musician/poet Marc Zeuk Roberts, interdisciplinary artist Richard Higlett and critical writer Ronnie Pope. Since December 2018, they are performed at venues including Chapter Arts Centre, Le Pub Newport and most recently The Last Supper at Printhaus, Cardiff. Drawing from ideas around the Theatre of the Absurd, contemporary paranoia and the conventions of the Pop music Industry, their show blends music and theatre while embracing chance and chaos. The band call this ‘Ironirock’ and while the band exists as primarily a musical entity it has a foot placed firmly in the realm of Theatre and Performance Art. Influenced by Dada’s approach to their times, Starlings Planet’s music echos Dada values today as our times dictate a need for absurdist action. In B-Movie, Uri recalls the gene of Horror Films but it is really a veiled attack on Boris Johnson and Brexit as each B-movie reference is a metaphor for our currently sociopolitical situation. Starlings Planet are currently developing their first album. The singles Action Man and B-Movie are currently available on Itunes.
